IVWA 2010: After Dinner (Fortified/Late Harvest) and Fruit Wine

This category combines the highest-scoring results from the Late Harvest and Fortified categories. In order to be eligible for the competition, these wines must be available for $25 or less, be they in 200-, 375- or 750-ml bottles. As in previous years, the judges found some remarkable bottles of port, sherry and late harvest scoring 88 or 89 and still costing in the teens. The category winners, both late harvest, delivered impressive value, while the still-decidedly non-trendy sherry remains among the best wine values in the world. (Craig Pinhey)
