How Wine Auctions Work

What to expect at your first wine auction

How Wine Auctions Work

On Dec. 6, Alberta's first single cellar wine auction was held at Hodgins Art Auctions in Calgary. Over 400 bottles, predominantly Italian and French, were available for sale from a single private cellar. Wine Access' Tom Firth was involved with some of the preparations for the auction — read about his experience.

We had the opportunity to ask Frank Hall of Hodgins Art Auctions a few questions about how wine auctions work — both behind-the-scenes and as a prospective buyer. Watch the interview.
