Want to rub elbows with celebrities and taste fabulous B.C. wine?
The 3rd annual Osoyoos Celebrity Wine Festival will be held June 9 to 12, 2011 and celebrities such as Jason Priestley and Steven Page will be in attendance. Escape to the Okanagan Valley for a weekend of wine, food and glamour.
The highlight of the weekend is The Vinos, a wine film festival competition inspired by the Big Rock Eddies beer commercial film festival. Enthusiasts produce a 1 to 3 minute video about their favourite B.C. winery, B.C. wine story or B.C. wine experience for a chance to win cash prizes and B.C. wine packages. Submissions from the finalists will be shown at a party on Saturday, June 11 at the Watermark Beach Resort and a celebrity judging panel will choose the lucky winners.
The deadline for video submissions for The Vinos in June 1, 2011. The entry form can be downloaded on the Osoyoos Celebrity Wine Festival website. Tickets for The Vinos party are $99 per person and can be purchased online at osoyooscelebritywinefestival.com.
Guests can purchase tickets to the Celebrity Wine Auction and Beach Party, featuring a silent auction of rare B.C. wines and a performance from award-winning singer and songwriter George Canyon. An array of Okanagan wines will be paired with creations by local chefs and when the auction is over, a DJ will spin tunes for the beach party.
Tickets for Celebrity Auction and Beach Party are $129 per person and can be purchased online at osoyooscelebritywinefestival.com.
Black Hills Estate Winery will be hosting a release party for the 11th vintage of their Nota Bene wine. Winemaker Graham Pierce will present and pair his wines and Los Angeles artist Adrienne Pierce will perform music composed specifically for this event.
Tickets for the Nota Bene release party are $149 per person and can be purchased online at osoyooscelebritywinefestival.com.
Attend the Judgment in Osoyoos: The International Wine Showdown blind tasting event to see how B.C. wine fares against international wine. Inspired by the famous 1976 “Judgment in Paris” tasting event that was featured in the movie Bottle Shock, a panel of experts will compare B.C. syrah against syrah from around the world.
Tickets for Judgment in Osoyoos are $49 per person and can be purchased online at osoyooscelebritywinefestival.com.
