Popcorn and Wine Pairing

Matching wine and popcorn for National Popcorn Day

Popcorn and Wine Pairing

It might seem like an unusal pairing to some, but popcorn and wine actually go very nicely. In honour of National Popcorn Day on January 19, here are six different popcorn recipes and wine suggestions. While classic butter and salt popcorn can be highlighted by a glass of chardonnay or sparkling, like prosecco or cava, there are many more options to experiment with. Turn on your favourite movie, curl onto the couch and enjoy the perfect pairing of popcorn and wine.

Pesto Popcorn

Pair this cheesy, basil-scented popcorn with a glass of cabernet sauvignon.

Wasbi Popcorn

Dull the spicy kick of wasbi with a glass of dry riesling.

Smoky Popcorn

The smoked paprika and aged gouda on this popcorn calls for pinot noir.

Truffle Butter, Parmesan and Thyme Popcorn

If there was a time for capital-C Champagne, this is it.

Double Gold Caramel Corn

Match the sweetness of this delicious popcorn with a glass of late harvest wine.

Maple Pecan Popcorn

This maple pecan popcorn deserves a special glass of icewine.
