Adrian Grenier releases Stomping Ground red blend under Shft House Wines

"Entourage" Actor Launches Sustainable Wine

Another day, another celebrity wine. Over the weekend, Entourage star Adrian Grenier announced that he was launching the Stomping Ground red blend with business partner Peter Glazer under the label Shft House Wines.

Shft House Wines will be sold under shft.com, a website launched by Grenier and Glazer in 2009 that sells sustainably designed products. Fittingly, their wine is sourced from organic, biodynamic and sustainable vineyards in Paso Robles, California. The wine label is made with non-toxic ink and the bottles are recycled.

"We decided that we were going to create a sustainable wine because we are all about connecting and lifestyle and what better way to connect and communicate ideas about sustainability than around a nice dinner with a great bottle of wine. … It's a social lubricant," Grenier told Robert Scoble at the Napa Valley Film Festival.

Shft House? Is that pronounced Shift house or Shaft House? Vowel dropping is a trend I think needs to end. Most of the time it goes unnoticed but in instances like this it just makes brand names needlessly ambiguous. Oh well. I guess ultimately if it is good quality wine, the product name matters not.
