If you are craving some down-home cooking that is just like your mother used to make, Slow Food Nova Scotia's annual Spring Supper is the must-attend event of the season.
Except, your mother was not offering up seven courses prepared by 11 of the region's top chefs. And each course probably was not paired with Nova Scotia wines.
The Saturday, May 5 event is sponsored by Taste of Nova Scotia and Wines of Nova Scotia. It is organized in support of the Canadian Chefs’ Congress and Slow Food International’s 1,000 Gardens in Africa Project. All the chefs, servers and organizers have donated their time and effort toward spreading the Slow Food philosophy of good, clean and local food for all.
Dinner will be served at Christ Church Community Center, located at 61 Dundas Street in Dartmouth, on the lower level. Tickets are $85 ($75 for Slow Food members) plus HST and are available at Chives Canadian Bistro, Brooklyn Warehouse and Two If By Sea Café. The Reception starts at 6:30 p.m., with dinner following at 7 p.m.
