Highwood Distillers releases commemorative Canadian rye whisky

Stampede for Whisky

In recognition of the Calgary Stampede’s 100th anniversary in 2012, Highwood Distillers has released a limited-edition premium 25-year-old commemorative Canadian rye whisky.

No word on what the Highwood 25-Year-Old Calgary Stampede Canadian Rye Whisky tastes like — the Wine Access crew hasn’t had an opportunity to sample it — but the bottle is certainly impressive, with a pewter-look metal label and a wood and cork stopper. Each bottle retails for about $50 — alas, only in Alberta.
