Vinos Line-up Announced

Entertainment, food and winery details for the 3rd annual wine film festival

Vinos Line-up Announced

The 3rd Annual Vinos are presented by Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association. The Vinos is the world’s first wine film festival. It has been inspired by events like the Sundance Film Festival, Cannes and the wildly successful Big Rock Eddies beer commercial film festival. The June 8 event takes place at Spirit Ridge in Osoyoos, British Columbia.

The ten participating wineries were recently announced and they include: Osoyoos Larose, Tinhorn Creek Vineyards, Jackson Triggs Winery, Bounty Cellars, Ex Nihilio, Cellarhand, Nk’mip Cellars, Hillside Estate Cellars, Moon Curser Vineyards and Black Hills Estate Winery.

The Vinos also released their entertainment selections, listing Erin Cebula, popular television host of Entertainment Tonight and Global TV BC as the host and Chef Jeremy Luypen of Terrafina Restaurant as the lead chef for the Vinos party. The instructor at the Okanagan College culinary arts program will bring his top graduates to cook and serve their creations.

“This is an incredible opportunity to showcase the emerging culinary talent in the Okanagan,” says Chef Luypen. “This is a very talented group of new chefs coming onto the food scene and it is thrilling for their debut to take place during such an exciting event like the Vinos.”

In addition, the award-winning acoustic duo One More Girl has signed on to headline the after-party and music maestro DJ Shakes (Nathan Heiberg) will be spinning.

A final request was made for video submissions for the film festival. There is now less than a week left to make submissions. With over $16,000 in prizes up for grabs in prizes, organizers are encouraging filmmakers everywhere to tell their own story of BC Wine or their passion for Okanagan Wine Tourism.
