One individual wine would be hard to pinpoint, but I like Ontario wine. I collect a lot of Ontario wines and Italian reds. I guess that’s about as narrow as I could get it. If I had to say one wine, I would say a Gabbiano Chianti, simply because that’s a place where I’ve visited and stayed there and we have a few bottles and we drink them regularly.

From where he started out, looking after water bottles for the local junior team, Gervais his risen in his field to become head equipment manager for the Montreal Canadiens, a position he has held for the past 13 of his 23 seasons with the team. Gervais has a Stanley Cup to his name (with the 1993 Canadiens), as well as Team Canada gold medals from the 2010 Winter Olympics and the 2004 World Cup of Hockey.

My Favourite Wine: Alexandre Picard

Alexandre Picard was born in 1985 in Gatineau, Que., and started playing hockey at age 4. Drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 3rd round of the 2003 NHL draft, he won the 2004-05 Calder Cup with the AHL's Philadelphia Phantoms. Most of his career to date has been spent with the Flyers organization and, on Feb. 1, 2007, he set a franchise record for the number of assists by a rookie in a single game. He also played with the Tampa Bay Lightning, Ottawa Senators and Carolina Hurricanes, before signing with the Canadiens in the summer of 2010. In July 2011, Picard signed with the Pittsburgh Penguins as a free agent.
