Slightly green on the nose, with pepper, smoke, raspberry, cherry, mint and savoury spices, with a herbal, stemmy note. The palate is chocolaty and smoky and carries a lot of oak, but in a crowd-pleasing style suitable for barbecues big and small. This wine won a gold medal at the Wine Access 2011 Canadian Wine Awards.

Sandhill Estates, starting the New Year's tastings off Right!

Another great chance to taste the stunning wines from Sandhill here in Calgary while Howard Soon is in town to further promote their Winery of the Year award from the 2009 Wine Access Canadian Wine Awards.

Its always great to get an invitation to a wine tasting. Its even better when you get to support a winery you like and believe in the wines, and it is possibly the best ever, when the tasting is part of a "victory tour" for something you are involved in.
