Having outgrown its modest winery, Wild Goose has just undertaken a major expansion that includes a larger tasting room, a new patio deck, a private function room and food facilities, additional wine storage, a new winemaker's laboratory and more parking for the winery's many visitors. New releases for 2011 include the winery's first chardonnay in a dozen years. The winery's storied Mystic River vineyard grew mediocre chardonnay when Wild Goose bought it in 1999. The winery replaced the vines and only last year made chardonnay when excellend purchased fruit was available. (John Schreiner)
