Not quite as brooding as the 2006 vintage, the nose of this red blend has notes of ripe cherry, blackberry, mocha, espresso, blueberry, licorice, tobacco, spice, coffee and mint. It is consistent on the palate, with good fruit, earthiness and a hint of bitter chocolate. Cellar with confidence or serve now, with a vigorous decanting and some seriously thick steaks.
