Stag's Leap Winery 2010 Chardonnay
91Points

Two-thirds of the juice in this chardonnay comes from Carneros, with the balance from various spots in Napa Valley. The nose brings a great balance of toasty and chalky notes, with ripe red apple, lemon-lime and melon aromas. Medium-plus bodied and vibrant, the Stag's Leap chardonnay never gets too hot, rich or flabby. Instead, light acidity holds the ripe apple and citrus notes together quite well, while six months in barrel brings light spice and caramel flavours on the palate.
