The raisin, spice, barnyard, dried cherry, leather, tobacco and plum notes on the nose are outstanding. It's a full-bodied, complex red, with savoury spice, black cherry, white pepper, ash, earth, raisin, smoky sausage, black liquorice and a hint of vanilla on the palate. Opening it now was almost a disservice; it could use another 5 to 8 years to open up and truly express itself.
