St. Hallett 2010 Gamekeeper’s Reserve Shiraz Grenache

St. Hallett 2010 Gamekeeper’s Reserve Shiraz Grenache

92Points

Stuart Blackwell’s doing some great stuff in the Barossa Valley at all price points and the Gamekeeper’s blend is clearly no exception. Raspberry, leather, cherry, perfume and light barnyard notes are compelling on the nose. The wine is a medium-plus-bodied red that’s big and juicy, with raspberry, blueberry, tart plum and white pepper notes on the palate. There’s no oak aging here — just a pure expression of fruit that over-delivers for the price.
