Penfolds 2008 Bin 407 Cabernet Sauvignon

91 Points

Black liquorice, perfume, white pepper, anise, cassis and light vanilla notes bring great intensity on the nose. This is a big, full-bodied red, but cassis, anise, white pepper and mint flavours manage to emerge from the medium tannins. It's still pretty tightly wound, so don't be afraid to decant it for a couple of hours, let it sit in your glass for a while or cellar it for up to 8 years.
