Allegrini 2009 Corte Giara Ripasso Valpolicella
This is a well-balanced ripasso, with less power and more elegance than many wines in the category. Expect delicate aromas of blackberry fruit, with well-integrated oak spice, dark chocolate and tobacco notes. The palate is very gentle and smooth, with the fruit balanced by some vibrant acidity and soft, finely divided tannins. It will gain complexity with some bottle age, but is drinking just fine now. At its best from 2012 to 2016.
