Wynns 2010 Estate Shiraz
Shiraz was the original variety planted in Coonawarra and the oldest vineyards in the region are planted to the grape. 2010 was considered a fine vintage, warmer than average, but without the heat spikes of 2008. The nose of this version is somewhat muted at the moment, with spicy red and black fruit notes, including dried cranberry. However, the palate is explosively fruity and densely concentrated, without excess extraction and ripeness. The acidity keeps things still juicy. Its concentration and depth are very good, as is the length on the finish.
