Lurton 2010 Gran Lurton Corte Friulano
89 Points
Friulano seems to have found a good home in Mendoza (it was accidentally shipped to Lurton's outpost in Argentina when pinot grigio had been ordered from the nursery). This example is redolent of ripe orchard and tropical fruit, with intriguing orange blossom and pineapple aromas. The palate offers a plush, full-bodied mouthfeel, tangible saltiness, balanced acidity and a long, pleasantly bitter finish. A nice wine at a fair price.
