Spy Valley 2009 Pinot Gris

90 Points

This starts with a very fresh nose, with wet stone minerality, floral hints, and stone fruit. Although the cool-climate effect shows very nicely in the nose, the palate is distinctly Alsace in style, with good body, smooth, even texture, fruit carrying through the mid-palate and length that really impressed the judges. A great dinner white for chicken, pork, veal, soft cheeses, like Brie, and meaty fish, such as halibut.
