Villa Maria 2011 Private Bin Sauvignon Blanc

87 Points

Slightly muted at first, the nose shows little of the olive and jalepeño notes we've come to expect from New Zealand sauvignon blanc. But there's plenty of herb, apple, lime, mineral and goosberries. Full flavoured and rich on the palate, the acids never overwhelm the riper, richer fruit flavours. It is very drinkable. Serve chilled with shellfish or grilled salmon.
