Quinta da Romeira 2010 Prova Régia Premium

91 Points

Made from 100% arinto grapes, this reserve bottling brings pear, mineral, peach skin, floral and lemon rind notes on the nose. It's a complex, medium-bodied white that offers lemon candy/lemon rind, green apple skins, green peach and a waxy stoniness on the crisp, slightly effervescent palate. Calling it vinho verde on steroids isn't a complete stretch; while the texture is reminiscent of vinho verde, the intensity level is far greater. Very well done, and the basic Prova Régia is quite good too.
