Frescobaldi 2009 Rèmole
89 Points
While the Rèmole brings all the Old World character you'd expect from a Tuscan sangiovese — ash, tomato, light herbal notes and raspberry — there's cassis and mint in there as well, thanks to the addition of 15 percent cabernet sauvignon. A medium-plus bodied red, the balance of strawberry and smoky notes, with cassis and cherry flavours and some light acidity on the palate was a winner with the judges.
