Trius 2010 Red

89 Points

Trius Red continues to be one of the most consistently correct and engaging Bordeaux blends in Niagara. The 2010 vintage has added some ripeness and suppleness. This is a lovely, fairly dense, quite soft red, with shy, blackberry fruit inlaid with cedar herbs and chocolate. It is very modern in style, smooth and dense, with good acidity and some tannic grit. I would have liked a bit more length after such a pleasant nose and texture, but there is very good winemaking at work here. This will drink at its best over the next seven years.
