C.H. Berres 2008 Riesling Kabinett Ürziger Würztgarten
91 Points
Here's a riesling that's strikingly pure, with minerality and a ripeness that must be verging on the spätlese level. Both the nose and the palate offer slate and sandstone flavours alongside ripe orchard fruit — peach apricot and pear — quite amazing for this cooler vintage, though typical of this exceptional south-facing vineyard site. This very fine wine has a lingering finish.
