Tesch 2009 Unplugged Riesling

89 Points

Made in a more contemporary, dry style than much of what we see from Germany, the Unplugged Riesling clocks in at 12.5% alcohol. It's fairly closed on the nose, with light lemon rind, limestone and green apple skin aromas peeking through. It's a somewhat subtle German riesling, lacking typical sweetness, but making up for it with lemon, green apple and grapefruit flavours and medium acidity. There's some subtle intensity to the Unplugged that should please fans of dry whites, as well as those who prefer slightly sweeter riesling.
