Pacific Rim Winemakers 2007 Riesling Wallula Columbia Valley Biodynamic

Feels dry as a bone but that's due to the intense acidity overpowering the hint of sweetness. Great depth, stone fruits, a note of petrol and a hint of slate. Actually a very nervous wine for the moment, where the acidity acts like a quivering bow. I would wait or a year or 2 and let the tension subside.

Poet's Leap 2009 Riesling

This wine reveals the great potential of Washington’s riesling fruit. So fresh and bright, this wine leaps from the bottle, offering mineral, pear and citrus aromas flecked with candied lime rind and grapefruit. Fairly tight now, but it has some mid-palate richness and a fresh, clean finish. Well done.

Waterbrook 2007 Melange Noir

Currants, plum, black cherries and black licorice lead the nose, with dark and earthy characters underneath. Flavours are spicy and dominated by black fruits on the palate, with black raspberry and a slightly resinous character. Finishes well, with earthiness and sleek tannins. It should sing with barbecue meats or ribs.

Waterbrook 2008 Melange Blanc

A blend of riesling, pinot gris, gewürztraminer, chardonnay and viognier, the nose has lime, apple, brine and slate notes. The palate shows a pinch of sweetness, with a good medley of tropical fruits. A little thin through the mid-palate, but it finishes clean. A refreshing and tasty bottling. Quite versatile, enjoy it with any food that calls for white wine.

Kung Fu Girl 2009 Riesling

An excellent riesling. Pale green/straw in the glass, with crisp apple, mineral and lemon aromas. Crisp, dry and perfectly balanced on the palate, with mineral-laden and refreshing flavours. A perfect riesling to have on hand around the house.

Magnificent Wine Company 2008 House Wine Red

This popular wine is known for what's in the bottle as much as its stark, yet friendly packaging. Jammy and slightly smoky fruits of raspberry, cherry, prune and raisin, with a little spice box, tar and black forest cake on the nose. The flavours are consistent and fresh, with good structure and softer tannins. No food required, but it should suffice virtually anytime you need an easy red. It's a well-priced wine that is suitable for restaurant enjoyment or for everyday drinking at home.

A lean and mineral-laden nose, with hints of smoke, apple, lime, limestone and floral undercurrents. Clean and lifted flavours on the palate, with a little CO2 and a bit of residual sugars. A tasty and refreshing riesling to enjoy inside or out.

Efeste 2010 Evergreen Riesling

Medium intensity aromas of lime, apple, pear, nectarine and a savoury, bready note. The palate is zippy, racy and pithy, with lime, minerals, pear, apricot stone and a hint of petrol. Good intensity and good length.

Desert Wind 2008 Ruah

A Bordeaux-style blend, with good aroma intensity of roasted herbs, cassis, redcurrant, plum and oak. The palate is quite structured, with high acidity and slightly astringent tannins. Lots of plum, spice, violet, vanilla, chocolate and pepper flavours, with a medium length finish.
